Find out how to be prepared for the best possible start and what to expect along the way. This course is open to all expecting parents; both individuals and couples are welcome to register. In our breastfeeding preparation course, we provide comprehensive information on the physiology of lactation, how to begin breastfeeing, how much milk your baby needs and how to understand your baby’s hunger cues. In addition to helping you understand the fundamentals of breastfeeding, our course also explores what your partner can do during the postpartum period to contribute to a relaxed and positive breastfeeding relationship between you and your baby. We supplement our theoretical discussion of breastfeeding with practical tips on latching and a hands-on approach to the various breastfeeding positions. This course addresses common breastfeeding myths, while leaving plenty of room for individual questions and exchange. We also provide information on potential breastfeeding difficulties and common challenges faced at the beginning and we show you practical ways to address them.
